Brown and Caldwell has been named a 2026 Platinum recipient of the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health, a national recognition from Mental Health America (MHA) for employers committed to mental well-being at work.
The Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health evaluates organizations across four key areas: workplace culture, mental health benefits, care beyond compliance (including psychological safety), and overall wellness. In particular, the MHA noted Brown and Caldwell’s “exceptional dedication to fostering a supportive workplace culture and aligning with leading industry best practices.”
"The Bell Seal reflects a continued commitment to that work, including the role mental well-being plays in it. We're grateful for the recognition and energized to keep listening, learning, and evolving alongside our people."
—Priscilla Black, BC Balance and Belonging Director
At Brown and Caldwell, mental well-being is part of a broader philosophy BC calls Balance and Belonging. It guides how BC engages, develops, and retains its more than 2,400 employee-owners, encouraging people to show up as their authentic selves and contribute their full range of perspectives, experiences, and talents.
Balance and Belonging helps shape everyday practices, from how leaders show up for their teams, to benefit offerings, to how mental health resources are made visible and easy to access. BC’s benefits are designed for real life and are part of a comprehensive package that promotes employee health, performance, and success, spanning work-life balance, health coverage, and professional growth.
BC takes a broader view of well-being beyond physical health, focusing on physical, mental, financial, and community well-being as needs change over time. Employees can use flexible work arrangements, including telecommuting, an employee assistance work-life program, and well-being webinars.
Much of this work is also driven by employees themselves. Brown and Caldwell's Employee Network Groups (ENGs) are open to all employees and create space to connect, learn, and grow professionally. Among them, enABLE plays a central role in advancing mental well-being at work by reducing stigma, fostering open dialogue, and connecting employees to one another and to resources that support whole-person health. Their efforts complement BC's mental health benefits, employee support, and broader well-being initiatives.
This recognition arrives during Mental Health Awareness Month, observed each May. It’s a moment for organizations to reflect on how they support mental well-being at work and where they can continue to strengthen the practices that help people thrive.
